Our Little Princess Has Arrived!

Last November 6, 2008, our Little Princess - Shanead Marie S. Vergara was born via repeat CS at 1:27 pm, with a birth weight of 7 lbs and 8 oz. and a birth length of 51 cms. Praise God my delivery was uneventful and Baby Shanead is healthy. I was really worried with this pregnancy because since my 3rd month of pregnancy I had recurrent spotting and infection. I also had 3 attacks of Asthma for which I had to be on inhaled steroids to control it. Thank you Lord for listening to my prayers. So Everyone, I would like to introduce SHANEAD MARIE S. VERGARA!

I'm not quite sure yet kung kanino siya kamukha. My mom says she looks like me when I was born but sometimes she looks like my son Gian so ibig sabihin kamukha ng asawa ko (Oh no! joke!). Well, let's see in the months to come. One thing's for sure, puyat ako lagi! She's hungry all the time and cries so loud na magigising buong barangay! LOL! At the moment we don't have a nickname yet for Shanead but I fondly call her "MEG"! Parang malayo ata sa Shanead Marie right? Well............
It's Meg for "Mega Dump or Mega pupu", "Mega dede", "Mega Weewee" and "Mega Cry"! LOL! But seriously, i hope we get to choose a real nickname for her na. My friends suggested Shane, My husband wants shandy kaso baka maging lasingera pag laki eh. Any suggestions? Just leave me a note! Who knows you might win a RAK from me

Three weeks ago I had my 4D Ultrasound at alabang so we can get a first glimpse at Baby Shanead Marie (Pronounced as "Shanade"). But looks like this baby is shy that she keeps on covering her face with her hands. Finally on our 3rd try 3 weeks later the sonologist finally got some good pics of Shanead. Everyone, Heto na po Ang unang silip kay Baby Shanead Marie Vergara:

Looks like kahawig pa din ng panganay ko na si Gian!

New Layouts to share!

Its been a while since I got to scrap. Been lazy lately with my tummy getting bigger and heavier. After clinic all I want to do is rest coz of back aches and swollen feet. Kaya konti lang na scrap ko. So here are a few LOS I've made a few weeks ago but was unable to upload.

This layout was inspired by a layout of April using SR grafton PPS. Just love the colors of these papers.

Journaling Reads:It's your first time to slide on your own. And just by looking at your face, It seems you really had a great time! Keep on enjoying the siple joys in life my son!

The pictures in the next 3 LOS were taken at grand villa resort during Liezl's birthday last August. We had a great time taking pictures and simply enjoying each others company.

This is my first pregnancy layout and I'm so happy with the final outcome. I used BG sultry PPS for this layout. Finally getting the hang of making girl LOS. LOL! Hirap pala when your used to making boy layouts.

Journaling reads: Although this has been a difficult pregnancy,my only wish is for you to be healthy. Hang in there Baby Shanead! Will be patiently waiting for your arrival in due time. Love Mommy!

These last two are 6 x 6 LOS that Liezl asked us to make during her birthday.Had fun doing this!TFL!

Gian's Linggo ng Wika Presentation

Last Aug 30, My son Had his first Linggo ng Wika presentation at their school. He was so excited that day to show their dance to me and my husband. We went to the school early to get seats in front. And Boy did he made us proud. He never cried or got shy to dance infront of all the parents. Fortunately, a parent uploaded their video at YOU TUBE so you can watch him Here
Gian is the boy in front with blue slippers.

MLA BLOG ENTRY!

Ms. Nenette Madero of My Little Attic finally has a blog! And what a way to commemorate its first post by sponsoring a challenge! And double fun pa because we're going to use a sketch by no other than one of my idols, Ms Valerie Salmon. So busy or not I had to make this layout! Here's my take on sketch #49.

Altered Canvass for Scrapbytes

Here's my entry to Scrapbytes montly challenge entitled "LOVE MY LIFE!". TFL!

I first painted my canvass with capri MM paint, Added some PPS then did some butterfly masking using lemon and wisteria MM paint unto the canvass and a portion of the picture. Afterwhich I applied blings to some of the butterflies to add more texture and dimension. Also applied Mod Podge after painting and masking.

Materials used. Canvass, 7 Gypsies and Anna Griffin PPS and DCWV CS, HS butterfly mask, Jo-ann craft essentials concho brad alphabet, Capri, lemon and wisteria MM Paints, Mod Podge, blings, BG wilma Chipboard alphabet and MM grapeside Scrapbook shimmer.

Layouts to share!

It's been a while since my last post. Been very busy lately in the clinic, giving lectures and also going to Manila with my husband to canvass and buy materials for the house we are building. Good thing I still get to scrap once in a while. Here are a couple of the layouts I made.

This layout was made during our second weekend crop held at Issa's place last June 2 We followed Helga's BINGO card instructions, wherein we have to scrap a page with the following: use transparency, use 5 different fonts for the title, use stamps, use plain white cardstock for the base paper and use at least 1 black and white photo.

Journaling reads:
This silent lad was not a cry baby
Was disciplined and was never spanked by his dad
Was tempered by hand me downs; wasn't demanding
Never blew a birthday candle until he was 33
Studied and worked hard to be a generous provider to enjoy the finer
things in life
Became my life's partner, my husband and great dad to my son.

This layout I made during my 1st on line crop at scrappin kids. we were told to use two brands of PPS, 2 flowers and 2 swirls. Luckily I won! This is my second win from SK.

I recently joined Mystical's "Don't Quote me " Challenge. I immediately fell in love with the saying " Even if a day should go by, when I don't say I love you, may never a moment go by without you knowing I do" , so I decided to use it for this layout.

Materials used: Prima dude papers, Basic Grey wilma Chipboard alphabet, Buttons, MM rub-on and brads.

LUCKY AT SCRAPJAM!

After the funfilled morning of shopping, demo classes, sumptuous lunch and bingo, next came the much awaited Scrap Challenge. We were required to use the Anna Griffin PPS provided by Marissa and also to use Bazzill Fancy edges and Boshers or washers(?). The theme was about friends and friendships. For my layout I used a black bracket shaped base CS and then I did some handcutting on the flowers from one of the patterned papers. I also used the fiskars lace border punch which I borrowed from Lee. Tinamad na kasi ako to go thru my stuff and open my new border punch. Thanks Lee for sharing your stuff!

It was again an anchievement on my part to be able to finish a layout in one hour. that's why it was really a big surprise when Marissa announced that my Layout won third place! Woohoo! It's my first On the spot Scrap challenge win! Our table proved to be lucky after all coz Candy won 2nd Place and Lee won the raffle for the Quickutz Squeeze! WooHoo!

Journaling reads:Scrapbooking is our common bond. But through the years, that bond has grown to something much more. It is now a friendship that is growing and Blooming!

And here's my Prize!Thank you very much Nette and Marissa for the wonderful stuff!

Let me share also the other goodies I got from the raffle and the other goodies that marissa and nette literally threw for us to catch! Everyone was jumping up and down trying to catch whatever came their way. Naku! kung di lang ako buntis talagang nakipagsabayan din ako. Luckily 3 items fell on my seat kaya nakakuha din ako. LOL!
With all the prizes I'm sure no one went home empty handed! Here's the loot I got!

It seems It was not only helga and me who were lucky that day! another LB scrapaholic won Nette's Summer Challenge! No other than my colleague Chiqui Gutierrez! Congratulations Chix! That sweet Solitude LO was simply stunning!

To Nette And Marissa, Thank you! Looking forward to your next SCRAPJAM!

SCRAPJAM!

Last Saturday, July 5, the LB Scrapaholics attended Ms. Marissa's (Scrapbooks Hawaii) and Ms Nenette Madero's (My Little Attic) SCRAPJAM! This was my first time to attend their EB but i have heard of how great their previous EBs were. So di ko talaga pinalampas tong event nato. And true enough, I really had a wonderful time. The ambiance pa lang bongga na! The house smelled so nice from the beautiful bouquets of flowers and aroma scents!

After the registration I headed straight for the scrapbook supplies and boy was I drooling at all the yummy stuffs! The moment I saw the Fiskars border punches, I just couldn't resist getting the lace and thredding water designs. Good thing Marissa gave out coupons wherein we could avail a 25% discount of any one Scrapbooks Hawaii item! (thanks so much Marissa!)Next I got the Kaiser Crafts "Baby Monologue" which I'll use for the Nursery.

Then I bought some PPS but this time I chose girl designs, again in preparation for the future girl layouts I'll be making in the future! LOL! Here are the other items I purchased.

After shopping, we settled in our respective tables for Marissa's demo classes. Liezl and I shared a table with Rachelle, Lee and Candy. I really enjoyed their company. I only get to chat with them in their blog's Cbox kaya it was a treat to finally get to chat with them in person. They were fun company to be with! Hope we get to share tables again in future EB's.

Marissa demonstrated to us 4 projects. It was the first time that I was able to finish all of the projects!Well... almost because the last 2 projects I purposely did not finish coz I wanted to put or use something else. But don't worry Marissa, I promise to finish it! Here are my outputs! The pink tote/gift bag was simply a lovely idea which I can use for the baptism of my 2nd baby.

After the classes, next of course was lunch! There lots of food! The Beef Caldereta was to die for! Congrats Nenette!you really know how to throw a fabulous crop party! Everything was just perfect! After that sumptuous meal was the Scrap jam Bingo hosted by Marissa's Daughter Jian! Unfortunately I didn't win. Cookie and helga who shared tables won the first two games then Christine V who sat at the table behind ours. Lucky nung table nila helga and cookie pero yung table namin hanggang pamumuro lang! LOL!

HOUSE ARREST!

As I have mentioned in my last post, I have been on house arrest for more than a week. But being the kind of person I am, Di ko talaga kaya to just lie down the whole day. Maybe during the first two days okay lang but after that I get restless and bored. So a few hours a day I try to scrap. Here are my creations.

Last June 7 Sat, the LB Scrapaholics had a mini-EB at Chiqui's house. And since I could not attend, I decided to make one at home.

For this Layout I used my prima dude papers which I just love. Decided also to do some embossing coz it's been a while since I last used my embossing powders. Sayang naman diba?

Next, I used my newly bought BG Boxer collection to make a layout for ScrappinKids June Challenge which is to submit a Lo about bonding between father and child.I did some doodling and stamping too. This time I used my never been used Technique Tuesday "Whipsy Gig" stamps. I bought it ages ago and never got to try it. At least something good is coming out of this house arrest thing! LOL! Nabulatlat ko tuloy stash ko.

Special thanks to Iris again for the inspiration. This layout is a lift from her "Quiet Moments" LO. Naku Iris, Mukhang pinaglilihian kita! Just Loving your work and looks like I will be scraplifting your other creations pa in the future!Hope you don't mind.

My third Lo is for Busy Bee's First FP challenge. I used FP- About a Boy PPS. For this challenge We are supposed to include the word First or 1st in our title. Here's my entry.

Hidden Journaling:

Dearest Gian,

My son, the day I first saw your face was the happiest day of my life!
Being childless for eight years was quite a struggle for me.
But through endless nights of praying to our Lord, he finally granted my wish and gave me my life’s one miracle and that is you Gian Paolo.

Just like the lyrics of the song,
“The first time ever I saw your face
I thought the sun rose in your eyes
And the moon and stars were the gifts you gave to the dark and the empty skies.”

I could not help the tears of joy to flow down on my face watching you when they laid you on my chest.
You had the most adorable face a mother could wish for.
Now I know my life is complete!

Gian Paolo, one hour old.

Lastly, this LO was made dahil kating-kati lang kamay ko to scrap! LOL! I used the Sultry paper from Basic Grey. Since puno na ng design yung paper, all I did was mat my picture with plain CS then put some flowers and gem brads. Then I added the maya road Bird and branch Chipboard. Used my Crackle paint again on the branch to give it an aged look and through Liezl's Suggestion, I sand the edges of the bird. Thanks Liezl!
