Sketchaholic Me!

Ever Since I discovered a couple of sketch blogs this year, I got totally hooked! I'm officially now a fan of a lot of these sketch blogs like Creative Scrappers, 52sketches52weeks, Inspired blueprints, Pagemaps and a lot more! I'm really loving all these fantastic sketches because it made me scrap fast and finish more layouts than last year.

Here are a few of my pages inspired from sketches.

Taken from 52 sketches 52 weeks Sketch 11:

This next sketch is from Scrappinkids' Sketch No. 3 Challenge for the month of june.I decided to do hidden journaling so I can accommodate more pictures.

PAGEMAPS Entry

Its my first time to join a challenge at PAGEMAPS. But I loved this Sketch of becky plus I fell in love with the prize that awaits the winner so I thought I'd give it a shot. Here's the sketch followed by my take on the sketch:

Journaling:
- Smiles that melts your heart
- Once upon a time, there was a lovely little princess and she had her Daddy
wrapped around her little finger. Secretly, he didn't mind at all.

I used the photos of my husband Ryan and DD Sharie who were "goofin' around" while I had fun taking pictures of the two. Just love seeing them bonding together and having fun! Sharie is truly a Daddy's Girl! I used Fancy Pants and DCWV PPS. Did some stitching and punch out also the strip of PP as an add on design to the paper. TFL!

My Little Attic Challenge Entry

It's been a while since Nenette of My Little Attic had a challenge. So when she finally had one I couldn't miss it for the world. Actually the challenge is quite difficult. For one I would be scrapping about me since the theme was " A day in my life". I always have a hard time making layouts about myself. Second we had to use different brands of pps! And to top it all, we had to make our own embellishment and do at least 2 types of distressing technique. Definitely a challenge right? Well here's what I came up with.....

I used BG Urban Prarie and several old Fancy Pants PPS. For my homemade embellishment I made a tree out of PPS. Had this picture also of me sitting and relaxing on a bench during one of my trips to Beijing but I decided to cut it out so it would seem that I'm relaxing under the tree. Its my first time also to used a corrugated board as my base paper. All in all I had fun creating this page! Thanks for the challenge nette!

Trip to OZ Land!

Last week, I had a chance to travel to Sydney, Australia. Its my first trip to OZ Land and was really excited to see the wonderful sites there. I got to see the famous Harbor bridge and Opera House.

The tour guide also brought us to Hunter Valley for some wine and cheese tasting. I was looking forward to seeing the Blue Mountains but unfortunately it was raining and so we couldn't see the "Three Sisters" because it was covered with fog!

But the highlight and most exciting part of my trip was to see an old friend whom I've missed dearly!I didn't realize how much I've missed her until I hugged her again that night! Yup yup! ladies! I met up with "Miss Congeniality" herself........

Beautiful pa din diba?

Joanne and her equally darling sister Jovy picked me up at my hotel and we went to darling harbor for dinner and dessert at "Pancake on the rocks"! But inside the car pa lang I was already feasting on the scrap stuff Joanne Got for me! Grabe! So scrappylicious talaga! Due to the hectic schedule of our tour, I didn't get a chance to visit a scrapbooking store and Joanne was so kind to do all the shopping for me! What a gal!

At dinner, as usual puro chika kami about each other's Kids, our husbands, scrapbooking and our friends espcially the LBS girls. Inabot nga kami ng midnight kakachika! LOL! And of course we didn't go home without the pictorials!

To Joanne and Jovy, thank you very much for your hospitality and generosity. I really had a wonderful time. Looking forward to my next visit at OZ. Do come back to the Philippines soon so I can return the favor! Mwah!

A "Scrappylicious" Weekend

Had a blast this weekend. Creative Scrappers is celebrating their 1st Birthday with a lot of challenges from April 19 to May 3 and so I decided to join.

The first challenge is the "Sweet and Simple" Challenge where we were allowed only to use one photo and one paper using this Sketch

Next, I joined the 3 picture challenge, again using a Sketch. Here's my take:

Third is their "Paint it" Challenge. For this challenge, you have to create a background on plain CS using paint. glimmer mist can be used. So for my page, I painted a bubble wrap with yellow MM paint and stamped it on a black CS. OOOh I loved the final outcome of this page.

Fourth LO, Yup it's my 4th in 2 days! I joined the No picture Challenge. I decided to put in the layout the pregnancy test strip of ny 2nd Child. This way I also cover my backlog LOS for my DD's Album. LOL!

Last Saturday, ScrappinKids also had a weekend challenge. I was only able to do two of their challenges. First, is Michelle's What is love Challenge. We were ask to ask our Kid what love is to them and scrap their 1st reply. Here's what my 4 yr old DS said:“Ikaw Mommy”. “I love you di ba? Like sa Mcdo – LOVE KO ‘TO!And here's my page:

I’m glad my son associates me with love. It’s the best gift a mother can get from her child. I hope and pray that he also learns to impart love and care to others.

For this layout, I used the sketch from Creative Scrapper's Button Challenge.

Aniza's Challenge was to scrap our kid's favorite food. Here's my entry:

That's it! Simply had a blast this weekend!

New Scrapbooking Style?

Well, I Hope so. I have always been a clean and simple scrapper. However, since I started making girl pages, I've been experimenting on making "Shabby Chic" LOS. Gosh! its really quite a challenge! Hopefully in time I'll get the hang of it. Here's my attempt:

Next Experiment is to try to make LOS with White space and few embellies. A challenge at Creative Scrappers gave me this opportunity. It's the Sweet and Simple Challenge where in you are allowed to use only one paper and one photo. Here's my take:
