HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

On sunday, June 15, 2008, is Father's day! And as our simple way to greet my dearest husband, I made this simple Father's day Card for him. And my son Gian helped too!

I've been on house arrest for a week now due to spotting again and so I'm not allowed to do any strenuous activities that would stress me physically and emotionally. Think happy thoughts lang daw according to my OB. Buti na lang scrapping makes me happy kaya I was able to make this card. I would have loved to do some cooking too so we can have a special lunch or dinner pero baka mapagod lang ako nun especially its my helps and yaya's day off on sunday so looks like hubby is stuck with takeout food and this card. Bawi na lang ako next year! Well Here's the card.

For this card I finally was able to use my Inque Boutique Nightingale stamps then embossed it with silver embossing powder. For the "DAD" Chipboards, I first painted it with blue MM Paint then applied my straw colored crackle paint. But I think maybe I applied too much crackle paint kasi I didn't get the desired cracks I wanted that would show the blue paint or baka mali ang paglagay ko. Anyway once it was dry, I applied Silver paint to match my motiff of blue and silver.

Lastly, for the journaling inside the card, here's where my son Gian helped. He was the one who wrote "happy father's Day!" Follow the dots pa nga lang.Hehehe! But he still makes me proud!

here's a lovely poem by Carmen Strawn that I would like to dedicate to all the father's on their special day!

A Father's Love

Is a Warm Embrace,
Or a Quick Hug
A Glowing Smile, and Your Wit and Wisdom...

A Fathers Love is a Walk in the Park
On a Hot Summer Day
A Drive in the Car, Down that Windy dirt Road

A Fathers Love is in the Poem Written
To 'A Friend or Daughter,'
In the Special Words That Come Only From a Father...

A Fathers Love is in Fun Times Together
Camping under the Trees
Enjoying a picnic, and Walking through the Leaves...

A Fathers Love is Faith in His Family
High Hopes and Dreams, And Pleasure in Doing
'What Ever It Takes'...

A Fathers Love is a Kiss on the Cheek
Or a Friendly Hand Shake
My Idol for Life, 'I Will Treasure Dearly'...

Well, to you my dearest Ryan and to my Dad, brother, Brothers in law and to all the Fathers out there, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL OF YOU!

Diba You Love Me Won!

Yippee! I was so happy when I received an email from Wati Of ScrappinKids informing me that my entry to their Darnest May Challenge was the residence designer favorite of the Month! Woohoo! To all who greeted me, thank you very much and to ScrappinKids thank you for coming up with these challenges. I loved joining them! Here's the Layout again!

I had fun doing this layout coz I got the chance to do some stamping. Here I used an old rubber placemat for stamping using MM paint. For the chipboard title, I painted it then stamped using french script and then applied ranger glossy accents. I also used the flowers from the prima bitty bag I got during the scrapfest. TFL!

New Layouts!

Have two new Layouts to share. First is my entry to My Little Attic's Summer Challenge. For this LO I used the Sweet Pea Line of Fancy Pants and their glitter cuts. I just fell in love with it that I could not resist using them. I also did stamping using MM paints and a bubble wrap! TFL!

Journaling:
Ever since Ryan and I got married it became sort of a tradition for us to celebrate his birthday at the beach. Both of us are very busy at work and for us to really have a great vacation away from patients or paperwork we have to really be far from home.
So whether it is in Boracay, Panglao or in Batangas, it was always a much awaited trip.
While Ryan goes scuba diving, I go snorkeling or simply take a stroll on the beach and collect sea shells.
These are simple things but it helps us relax, unwind and recharge.

Darnest May.....

Kids say the darnest things!
"That's why it is so important to keep a paper and pen handy at all times!
You'll never know when you're going to overhear a conversation
that you will never want to forget!!!"this was the challenge made by scrappin Kids for the month of May... to scrap about the darnest things that our lil ones ever said. And I just got the right picture for this. Mind you this was the actual shot my husband took using his nokia N95 when this incident happened.

A few months ago, my son Gian stunned me by what he said. He was very naughty that day and so out of frustration I told him that he was a very bad boy! He started to cry and suddenly said "DIBA YOU LOVE ME? YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO GET MAD AT ME!This reply really caught me by surprise and I felt bad that I got so mad at him. But as always we ended up hugging each other tight. My hubby was so amused by what happened that he couldn't resist taking this picture of my son and I making up!

I'm Back!

It's been a month since my last post. Actually I didn't go anywhere.Didn't have the mood or the drive to scrap. Had terrible afternoon sickness (yup mine is in the afternoon)that's why I've been out of touch lately. Anyway, I finally found a way to avoid throwing up. Did a few experiments and it seems that as long as I don't eat pork, beef or chicken then I'm less "hilo". hehehe! And maybe because I'm entering my 3rd month of pregnancy kaya medyo nag wane na ang afternoon sickness.

So finally, here I am starting to scrap again. I was able to make 2 new layouts. The first one I made for the april Scrabytes challenge. I had fun doing this layout because it gave me a chance to use bright summer colors which I just love soooo much! Here's my entry:

Mini albums

I recently submitted 2 mini album entries to Rekindled moments Maya Road challenge. This is actually my first time to make one kaya medyo nangangapa pa ako. Medyo mas mahirap pala sya gawin but I had fun doing it.

The first mini Album is about my son Gian's developmental milestones. I have long been wanting to do this kaya lang laging na put aside. But I finally had the chance to make it. At Least when he gets older I can still be able to remember all his firsts by looking at this album.

The 2nd entry I made is about my recent trip to Tokyo. I'm so happy also because I was able to document my trip and be able to use some of my old stash. Mukhang bumagay naman yung BG lilykate and gypsy ko na 6 x 6 papers sa Japanese motif ko. I also used some of the souvenir items I bought there like the fans and origami papers. Thanks for looking!
