I won!

I just couldn't believe it when Helga called me up last Saturday to tell me the good news that I won Scrapbooks Hawaii's Autumn Leaves Card Challenge! Ang Masaklap pa I was holding clinic at that time kaya di ako makareact ng todo. (Syempre Prim and proper ang doctor hehehe!). But seriously the first  thought that came on my mind was "baka ako lang ang nagsubmit!" Hehehe!

Anyway, I'm so thrilled with this win because I was so busy the past 2 weeks and I
thought I wouldn't be able to join the challenges. Sa sobrang gusto ko makasali, I made this card at the hotel where I was attending a convention. I was all alone in
my room and I couldn't sleep. So I decided to make the cards instead. I finished it at 2am!Sulit naman pala yung pagpuyat ko.

Here are my entries!

Card No. 1: Birthday card Purse for Mom

For this card I folded and cut out a cardstock in the shape of a purse. To the backside of the purse I adhered a patterned paper (Tres Swirls). Then I cut a semi circle from the same paper and adhered it to the front side of the card. On the lower portion I embellished using the Autumn Leaves Flourishes stamp and applied glitter glue. After which I adhered small prima flowers, die cut word Mom and button. And for the final touch, I made a strap for the card purse using stringed pearl and pink beads.

Materials used: Rhonna Farrer Tres Swirls paper, Autumn Leaves Flourishes V:1 acrylic stamp, Basic Grey Urban Couture-Sateen, Daisy D Diecut (Mom), Prima Flowers, Button, Glitter Glue, Bling, Ric-rac ribbon, Colorbox chalk (Chestnut roan).

Card No. 2: Valentine Card

Materials Used: Autumn leaves Superstar:Legend paper, Red Bazill Cardstock, Autumn Leaves Fourishes V:1 Acrylic stamp, Heart shape felt fabric, Daisy D’s Die cut (I Love You), Fiskar’s border Punch (heart), brown ink.

Card No. 3: Thank you Card

For this card I first stamped on white cardstock using 3 different stamps to form swirls then I cut openings and accented using black Sakura aqualip pen. Then I attached under the white cardstock a patterned paper whose edges were trimmed using fiskar’s Embossing Border punch (dandy doodles). To embellish I added prima flowers on the edges.

Materials Used: Autumn Leaves Acrylic Stamps- Big Swirls, Flourishes V:1, Swirl Version 1, white cardstock, K & Co. Patchwork Embossed Paper, Fiskars Embossing border punch, Scenic Route diecut (Thank you), Prima flowers, Brads, sakura black Aqualip pen.

Thank you Marissa for coming up with this challenge. Because of this I was able to appreciate the art of card making. To the Judges, thank you also appreciating and acknowledging my work.

Created with Love

When Sahrie announced its noteworthy challenge with the theme "Someone or Something you love", I knew right away what pictures I wanted to scrap. And when I finished these two entries, I was so happy with it. Lots of love was really poured into it!

I'm Scrapping Again!

Happy New Year Everyone!

It feels great to be scrapping again!    I was soooo busy during the  holidays kaya not much output for the month of December. I was able to make two layouts only. The first one I did was a Christmas gift for a dear friend, Dra. Agnes Lantican who's 76 years old which I scraplifted from an Iris Babao  page. (hope you don't mind Iris). The second is a wedding layout I scraplifted from the ACOT gallery. Thanks for the inspiration ladies!

Here are my year ender pages.

Then after a lull of about 3 weeks, I started scrapping only last weekend. Had to make one coz
It was my turn to make the monthly 30 minute article for scrapbytes. Won't be able to post it yet here in my blog, but watch for it in the Feb scrapbytes issue of Scrappinmoms.
But after making the article and LO, I was sooo in the mood to scrap that I was able to make 4 new Christmas pages! Yipee! Hope you like them! TFL!

Dear Santa....

After the putting up of the tree and Christmas decorations around the house, Gian's Next Agenda was his presents. This time he keeps on looking for presents from Santa. So I asked him.
Mom : "Have you Been a good boy?
Gian: Why....Yes Po!
Mom: Really?
Gian: Yeah!
Mom: Then you better write a letter to santa so He'll Know what you want.

Immediately he asks for a pencil and paper and starts to write(Kuno Hehehe! D Pa po sya maalam.) Pero mind you serious ang little boy.

orde

Mom: So what do want from santa?
Gian: Uhmm....
1. Bubbles!
2. Toy!
Mom: what kind of toy?
Gian: Car!
3. Glass that is not dirty
4. Ball na di sira! (coz every time that he insists on playing with his ball but its bedtime na, we tell him he can't play coz its sira)
5. Big umbrella
6. cellphone
7. computer!
Mom:Anything else?
Gian: Uhmm... enough na.
Mom: Great!(buti 7 lang pero madugo ito!)

So that night after church, I gave him an envelope to put his letter. He left it on the tree hoping that Santa would come and read his wish list.

And every morning, soon as he wakes up, he rushes to the tree and inspects the branches where he left his wishlist. On the 3rd morning, He was ecstatic to learn, his letter was no longer where he left it! With eyes aglow, and a smile from ear to ear, knowing that Santa must have gotten his letter because he was a good boy! So now he's expecting his presents just like mommy's which seem to pile up each day.

And 12 Days before Christmas,a pleasant surprise awaited under the tree. As he inspected the new presents he noticed some of the presents had the letters G-I-A-N written on the card. And He shouted Thats me! Look Mommy! G-I-A-N! Thats Gian! I Have Presents!Yehey!and he burst into song, the lyrics of which only he can comprehend! And he reached for one and Asked:

Gian:Can I open my present?
Mom:Uh Oh! Sorry son but you have to wait till christmas.
Gian: But its Christmas na! Look at the neighbors, they have christmas na!
Mom: Son we have to wait until december 25

OH boy! The debate lasted a few minutes. finally what I did was I got a december calender, pasted it on the ref and pointed the present date and encircled Christmas Day. To appease him, thus started the 12 days of christmas daily countdown, wherein every new morning he puts an X to mark a day closer to Christmas! With each Passing day he opens one present.

Our House Has Christmas Na!

For the Past 12 years,I normally put up my Christmas Tree and decorations on December One. However, My 3 year old son changed my routine. Here's why. Around 3rd week of November my son saw our neighbors houses having christmas lights already. "Look Mommy! Our neighbor has Christmas na but we dont have Christmas yet!" I said " Son, Its still too early to put up the christmas tree." Big Mistake! As soon as I said it he started muttering to himself that how come the neighbors have na. sabay giving me the "Paawa Look". Kaya even though I was supposed to prepare for my lecture in Batangas the following day, We eventually put up the Christmas tree that night. And Boy was it A memorable One. Gian was so happy that night. He even wanted to be the one to put up the Christmas Balls on the tree. When he saw an old Santa's hat, he put it on pretending to be santa's helper. Just look at these pictures! Sayang nga lang na tinotoyo ang camera ko. WaaaH! But then....

Thank you Gian for this very special moment with you!
